Our Sacramental Prep programs for children include:
First Reconciliation/First Holy Communion Prep: enrollment for these Sacraments takes place during regular Faith Formation meetings. There are 4 special “meditation nights” and a retreat that is held the day before First Communion Sunday. See the parent information letter here and schedule here.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Children: Our RCIC program is tailored to the individual needs of each child and family, depending on the number of children enrolled each year. Please contact the Director of Faith Formation if you are interested in finding out more.
Confirmation: Confirmation at All Saints takes place within the 8th grade year for the last time during the 2011-2012 school year. After this, the age of conferral of the Sacrament in the Diocese of Des Moines will be 10th grade. This year, All Saints will host its own celebration with the Bishop, and will involve a special dinner with the teens before the Confirmation mass.
Our Confirmation students will attend weekly RE sessions in the context of the LIFETEEN program. They will be required to attend a Confirmation retreat in the fall and complete service hours and projects individually and with their class. The final preparation period in May will include special Wednesday night sessions as well as an opportunity for Communal Reconciliation.
